Here's a view of the 10-13-2004 configuration of the radio equipment rack at Gold Mt indicating the locations of the Olympic Canal, South Puget Belfair and DNR State E repeaters. The equipment in the 8 ft seismic restrained rack assembly was repackaged to allow the inclusion of a battery back-up container. The battery back-up is intended to reduce the effects of AC supply voltage variations to the microprocessor controlled equipment in a similar manner as a UPS connected to a desktop PC. Commercial AC power to generator power transision is one source for supply voltage variations. The battery back up will also provide short term equipment operation with the loss of both commercial AC power and generator power.
