Gold Mountain Road Washout 10-20-03
Information uploaded 12-19-2004

One aspect of mountain top radio site work is to expect the unexpected. Here's a case in point ... After a day of work atop Gold Mountain on 10-20-03 we were greeted with the above predicament on our descent from the site. Although there was no water over the road on our ascent early in the morning, by late in the afternoon several feet of the road had been washed away by flood waters. In this situation, our four wheel drive rig saved the day. Other return trips have yielded fallen trees over the roadway making a chain saw part of the standard equipment aboard our service vehicles.
